Climate change and technology

Technology

Alternatives to fossil fuels must be found if mankind is to avoid catastrophic climate change. Japan is a world leader in both energy efficiency and a range of new technologies for heating and cooling, electricity production and powering vehicles. Global warming is a threat to Japan but also presents a major business opportunity, with exports of items like solar panels keeping factories working 24 hours a day. But there is no magic bullet to replace fossil fuels. A range of different solutions, adapted to different conditions is required. Japan is using the wind, waves, tidal currents, the sun and even dormant volcanoes to generate power. And this is only the beginning.

The polititions around the world are merely puppets, for the corporate owners of gas and oil suppliers and big buisness men associated with the filthy stuff.

I have very strong views about this. I have choosen this charity for my A level media studies campaign, I have to create 3 adverts for this charity influencing others to donate.

Another thing i can’t understand is that if they can get a man on the moon (supposedly anyway) or make a 5 ton metal bird fly, or make computers etc, then why cant they make a car that dosent run on petrol. I have noticed the cars they are trying to make at the moment; The petrol car (one of the worlds worst polluters) The electric car (just as bad electricity comes from big burning chimneys) The Water/Hydrogen car (what happens when there’s no more water?) why cant they make a car that runs on sea water? It is simpler than it sounds, i got a toy car to run on sea water using the sodium to react with another chemical and thus forming a chemical reaction in the water, it created too much energy and exploded but with the right people following this it could be a winner…
