Paul Brown:
Climate change and natural environment

Natural Environment

“Throughout history, human beings understood that they were utterly dependent on nature. People knew that in this world everything is interconnected and thus, every action has repercussions and responsibilities. Over the past century, that sense has been shattered so we no longer see it with clarity. Today, we buy tropical food in winter without asking about the environmental effects of shipping it halfway around the planet; we buy clothes without asking where the materials were grown and under what conditions; we rush asthmatic children to hospitals in SUVs without linking our lifestyles with the respiratory crisis. We acknowledge climate change but turn a blind eye to the way it’s altering our fragile ecosystems.”

Thank you very much for presenting this vital information to the public.
I wll make sure all my friends get your URL…and send donations when and where possible.

The warming of Earth’s atmosphere is a building tragedy for entire ecologies that have been evolving since the Cretaceous-Tertiary extinction event 65 million years ago, insult is compounded on top of injury here because we, Earth’s most intelligent species are causing it.

This is maddeningly frustrating to those of us who care, to those of us who dedicate our lives to understanding, respecting, and enjoying life in all its diversity.

    Respectfully yours,
    Grady Padgett

Thank you for bringing awareness to people and opening their eyes to what seems so obvious. Recently there was a law in Ontario banning smoking inside public places to protect non-smokers from the poisons they might inhale. I work at a car plant and was wondering if this ruling could somehow protect the people that work inside the plant, and thus the people outside of plant- to create clean emmisions. Or less damaging ones. In the summer we work in a haze of smog, I’m sure it will lobby business if their money is threatened by W.C.B. claims. We all want to work and live responsibly with nature., surly the technology is here by now!! At my work they send out paper flyers saying they care about our health and wellness, let’s see if they care and put that money into the envroment instead. Thank You, God bless your efforts David, Shelley

I appreciate the fact that our world is becoming warmer and that human activity is doing little or nothing to counteract that situation. However, I feel that it would be of great value in getting people to understand their part in creating this state of affairs if someone would explain what caused the lack of snow on Kilimanjaro 11,000 years ago. That certainly wasn’t as a result of the activities of human beings so what was the cause.
