THE NORTH EASTERN STATES OF THE US HAVE DECIDED THAT ACTION ON CLIMATE CHANGE IS NEEDED AND ARE LAUNCHING AN EMISSIONS TRADING SCHEME DESIGNED TO CUT THE CO2 EMISSIONS OF POWER PLANTS. ONCE THE EMISSIONS TRADING INITIATIVE IS LAUNCHED, TONNES OF CARBON WILL BE BOUGHT AND SOLD AS A COMMODITY LIKE ANY OTHER IN THE FINANCIAL DISTRICT OF NEW YORK CITY.
Why isn’t the American central government taking action on climate change? Why hasn’t America signed Kyoto? Why is climate change and the environment rarley mentioned by the Bristish and American governments?
Most Conservatives in America hold that Global Warming is “flawed science”, and therefor the Bush administration will not support signing of Kyoto. This opinion is promulgated by the religious and conservative right-wing believers, encouraged by the corporate managers who do not dare risk reducing earnings by adopting new green technologies. It is a sad state of affairs which will change only when the voting public demands change.
i have a news flash for you,this american government was not elected by the people it was put in place by the supreme court and it does not represent the people of america it represents the energy corps,the largest corps in the country.i would like to get rid of this government and put another one in its place one that would count all the votes and actually represent the people of this country.the constitution says we have the power to do this why do we let them get away with the lies and misrepresentations.
