Paul Brown:
Climate change and development

Comment

Development

“By the end of this century, our planet may look very different from how it does today. Many small island nations might no longer exist, inundation of coastal areas could lead to the displacement of hundreds of millions of people, and former agricultural lands could become unable to support crops. While all countries are vulnerable to the consequences, developing countries are especially at risk. Their economies will suffer most from the heightened frequency of extreme droughts, floods and storms associated with climate change. There is a real risk that climate change could undermine human development. We must not let that happen.”

Kofi A. Annan

UN Secretary-General

  1. Musa A Sufi Says:

I think the idea is too low representations. The tragedy is only beginning to show itself. The developing countries are getting very poor thus cousing so much impact to cause more tragedy. Infact, the Ocean expantion and desertification are there keeps growing. Now in 100 years where is the future. More importantly even if i we stop the emission now, the effect will still show due to the already emitted GHG. we have to stop it if not, the extinction is not only olants, birds but certainly all living including Human Beings.
