SERVING THE EVENING MEAL FROM ONE OF THE SOLAR COOKERS AT ECOCITY. THE SIMPLE BAR FROM WHICH THE POT IS SUSPENDED KEEPS IT UPRIGHT AT ALL TIMES AND THE HIGHLY POLISHED BOWL IS TURNED TO FACE THE SUN, CONCENTRATING THE RAYS AND COOKING AT TEMPERATURES BETWEEN 107°C AND 135°C (225°F AND 275°F).

This kind of attitudes are remarkable. Major polluters and consumers should check out these examples and change their way, or be led to do it.
A very ecological, creative, simple and beautiful idea.
You know what is interesting… People think that to get where your going or to know a lot you need to have a lot of money. Well..let me just say…how UNTRUE that is!! The people living in these communities know a lot more than the richest people probably ever will. And they are taking a stance to hopefully improve their quality of life in the future. Maybe the rest of the world should jump on the bandwagon and start taking care of ourselves:)
I visited ecocity and the ecofarm in Midrand South Africa in October 2006. What I saw there was a shame. The eco-village was abandoned. What we see in the picturers are just models. The guy we found at the ecofarm is a good presenter, but the work on the ground is never done. People are making monry adverstising these (ecocity and ecofarm South Africa). Someone should explain. However, these elements should not ruin the whole concept of alternative energy sources.
