Ramesh Singh originally trained as a seed technologist and first started working for ActionAid in The Gambia in 1984. He has since worked for ActionAid in different capacities in a range of countries including Ethiopia, Nepal, Vietnam and Thailand. In 2003 he moved to London and became Operations Director. Now, as Chief Executive, Ramesh is leading the process of internationalising ActionAid from the newly formed International Secretariat in Johannesburg.
